Designer - Ulla Procopé

Ulla Procopé (b. 1921 in Helsinki, d. 1698 in Tenerife) gratduated from the Central School of Arts and Crafts for a ceramista and began to work in hand-decorating at Arabia. She worked in Olga Osolin leadership for two years, and after that she moved to model- and decoration department. She started to work again in Arabia 1956 at product design department, where she made significan't career in the turn of 1950's and 1960's with Kaarina Aho and Kaj Franck. She worked in Arabia until 1967.

Behind her succesful designs was cooperation with model makers, laboratory people and burn oven handlers. She was skillfull with potter, she designed ornaments mostly on top of the models and with transfer pictures and made a lot of combustion experiments. Her most famous work are Liekki- casserole series, ND- dishware model with hand painted cobalt blue, Valencia decorations and S- dishware series with Ruska-ornaments. Where Arabia mass producted for the first time matte glazed product.

Her ability to design and implement working models from ceramic mass had significant success for Arabia in 1950's and 1960's centuries. She participated in numerous art exhibitions at home and abroad.
