Designer - Tapio Yli-Viikari

Tapio Yli-Viikari (Born in 1948 Polvijärvi) graduated from University of Art as a ceramist in 1974. He worked as a product designer, design manager and an art director in Arabia factory from 1977 until 1987. From 1987 he has held a professorship in the University of Art and Design and has been responsible for ceramics and glass department of art education.

In Arabia factory he was responsible of mass production of objects, such as Kokki-, Uunikokki- casserole chef series and he led the design of the factory line and desicion-makings in product design meetings. Yli-Viikari has focused  his work for versability, factorys ceramic know-how, internationalism and in material research.
