Designer - Anja Jaatinen-Winquist

After graduating from current Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture in 1955 ANJA JAATINEN-WINQUIST (born 1934 in Sortavala) worked five years as an assistant for Aune Siimes. She continued working in Arabia Department of Product Design until 1974 and has designed several tableware models as well as decorations for the factory's production.

The most famous of these is iron oxide decorated M model Karelia. As a very talented wheel-thrower she also produced unique items such as bottles and chalices of which decorations have often been skilfully used matt brown shades. Earthenware mass she blended herself.
